Star Fissure commission detailby ~rivenwanderer

Artisan Crafts / Metal Work

This is a commissioned piece for the excellent =E-Derby, based on her digital Myst fanart of a Star Fissure pendant: [link]

She's going to incorporate it into a project of her own, and I couldn't be more thrilled--it's been amazing working with such a talented artist

This piece is made from oxidized sterling silver set with garnets and decorated with star-shaped stamping and sterling spheres. Hopefully this closeup view captures the rich graphite-like patina I was able to achieve.

The Star Fissure is one of my favorite motifs from the Myst universe--it features so prominently in the span of the canon most dear to me.

"Now I understand. Endings and beginnings are within the Fissure, that riven cleft of stars that acts as both a wall and a bridge."
